How Do Female Artists Live? – Discussing Female Living Conditions with Artists from Rijeka and Zagreb

The event will be held in English (translation if needed: Izabela Wnorowska, BA, interpreter)

In this venue, three artists from Rijeka and Zagreb present their recent research. The venue is designed to open a dialogue on how female artists in Rijeka and the surrounding area live, whether they can earn a living, and how they go about it. They aimed to gain insight into the artists’ daily routines by monitoring and recording their everyday chores in their work and private lives. The outcome includes almost all segments of the public and private lives of the female artists, accompanied by quotes from interviews conducted in the field.

The research was conducted by performing arts organisation Prostor Plus from Rijeka, Croatia, and the three researchers

Tajana Josimovic, producer and cultural project manager, researcher

Selma Banich, independent performing artist

Nina Gojic, independent dramaturg

Host: Gerlinde Mauerer, social scientist, Department of Sociology, University of Vienna, associated with the Frauenhetz.
