Talk on Monday, 23rd of June 2025, 6 p.m.
How nurses work in the Ukrainian health care system: One for three
with Olena Tkalich (journalist, sociologist, gender researcher)
In her talk, Olena Tkalich presents a study that she conducted in cooperation with Oksana Dutchak and Nataliia Lomonosova. The study bases on 48 interviews with nurses from different regions of Ukraine. It shows how the deregulation of nursing care affects nurses’ work, personal lives, and their ability to protect their rights, as well as how they want to improve the situation. Activists from the nurses’ Medical Movement “Be like We are” were directly involved in planning and conducting this study, making it a case of activist research.
