Iran: The Situation of Women

In her presentation, Sholeh Zamini will discuss the situation of women in Iran following the January 2026 massacre carried out by the Islamic Republic, the war, and the internet shutdown. During its 47 years in power, the Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly demonstrated that, whenever it faces international defeat or pressure, it is willing to retaliate against the Iranian people — especially women and girls — through violence and repression. Now, the war has provided the regime with an excuse to intensify its repressions.
